Team Representatives
Chesterbrook's swim team is managed by volunteers known as Team Representatives or Team Reps. Teams Reps are responsible for managing the relationship between Chesterbrook's Swim Team and the NVSL, as well as for acting as a liaison between the team and the pool. Team Reps also serve as members of the Chesterbrook Board of Directors.
Amy and her husband, Lee, joined Chesterbrook in 2019 because they wanted their three girls to have a fun swim team experience, similar to what Amy had enjoyed growing up swimming in NC. They have one swimmer on the team: Jackie (15).
For the past six years since joining, Amy has volunteered in various positions, including as a stroke and turn judge, timer, marshal, and clerk of course.
Amy works full-time for the federal government and when she can find spare time, she enjoys running, reading and home improvement projects. She has also led a girl scout troop for the past ten years.
Laura is looking forward to a fun and competitive swim season with the Tigersharks! She and her family joined Chesterbrook in 2017, and her daughter, Sabrina, joined Little Jaws. While Sabrina is the only swimmer in the family, her other children have participated on the dive and tennis teams, and all three are lifeguards.
Laura has served the team as a timer and data table volunteer. She was also a Chesterbrook Dive Rep during the renovation and COVID swim seasons.
When Laura is not at the pool, cheering for the swim team, she works as a secondary literacy specialist and curriculum developer. After eight years with Arlington Public Schools, she recently re-entered the private sector at an educational technology company. In her free time, Laura likes to walk, cook, read, spend time with family and friends, and cheer for her kids in whatever they are doing.
Jen is very excited for her role as a swim team rep. She and her husband, Andy, joined Chesterbrook in 2014. At the time, they had no idea that Chesterbrook even had a swim team! Once their daughter Taylor joined Little Jaws at 6 years old, they were all in. They now have three swimmers on the team: Taylor (15), Ashley (12) and Connor (9). Chesterbrook swim has become the biggest and best part of their summer!
Throughout the years on the Chesterbrook swim team, Jen has volunteered in various positions, including as a timer, clerk of course, at the Tiger Shark cafe and as the pancake breakfast coordinator.
Outside of loving to watch her children swim and participate in other various competitive sports, Jen enjoys running, reading and traveling. She also loves participating in her community group through church and volunteering at her children’s schools and DC127, an organization that provides support and services to protect children and under-resourced families.
